SCUMBACK SPEAKERS

Postby JD23USA » 29 Oct 2009, 12:24

Anyone Rocking These ?
I Was at the LA Amp show earlier this month & was LOVING these speakers. If your not familiar chk them out if you like that Pre Rola Celestion tone.

Best used in a plexi type amp, they are very good and yes voiced like the old celestions. Many raves with the guys that have them. But maybe a bit overpriced.

So they're just a marketing and sales company? No wonder they cost so much.
I've got some Webers in my SuperReverb that just kick ASS. :party

WEBER, Good to know. BIG Price difference. I'm looking to do a mix for a 2x12 of an Alnico and a ceramic like a G12-65 CELESTION. Any recommendations ? :jam

I found the breadth of their selections to broad to make a choice, so I sent an email describing my amp and what I was hoping to achieve. They responded quickly, and after a couple of follow-up questions and answers I made my choice. Their guidance was invaluable, and right on the money. I wish I could offer a suggestion to you, but I just don't have enough info about their products.

Good luck and happy tone hunting! :party

I can offer this though, many of Webers products are 'replicas' of the classics, if that helps.

Yup. Thing is, the speakers are made by Weber to Scumbacks specs and you cannot get them directly from Weber.

Of course there is THAT small problem. :doh :bgrin

I asked scumback if there 100 watt alnico would work with my 100 watt mesa boogie mark I.......
The reply was if i do not put the masterbvolume past 6 it could survive maybe.....
Santana uses a altec 417 8c speaker(big alnico V magnet) but these are no longer made. Buying a damaged one
and have it reconed can get very expensive.I wonder if there is a brand that makes a high wattage alnico
speaker that i could use in my 1x12 combo?
epiphone les paul standard 1959 limited edition .
epiphone BB King Lucille
Orange Crush 35 RT
boss e-band JS-8 ( 32 GB for backing tracks)
beyer dynamic DT 880 Pro headphones.
