Opinions on Celestion G12 Century Vintage

Postby exotl » 20 Dec 2009, 05:09

Has somebody had the occasion to seriously test drive the Century Vintage - preferably with a VM amp? These speakers would make my 2x12" with it's single strap handle very convenient to lug around, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice a good sound for it. As I never had the opportunity to test one, I would be curious for your opinion!

I once had a Vox AC30CC1 with the Vox badged Celestion neo speaker and really liked it.
Never tried one with a VM though.

Thanks everybody for not posting what they read on Harmony Central or elsewhere!
The members of this board seem to be well disciplined, I really do appreciate - cheers!!!

Edit/update:
Following the general suggestions I just made the decision and ordered a pair of 8 ohm Greenbacks for my 1936. I'll have to lug around 4 extra kilogramms, but I believe they'll suit my idea of a good sound better!
