Bluguitar amp1 and Yamaha SG3000S

Postby Alpeggio » 10 Sep 2017, 08:00

Hi guys, I was thinking of selling the amp1, so I gave it a final try using its vintage channel and my Yam SG.
This channel is voiced after a jrm45, and I'd say its close if you roll the bass off the 45, which is usual practice.

The SG was my 1st Real guitar, bought in 1985. I sold my Honda 750 motorbike to buy it, and with this guitar I progressed quickly in my technique.

It ended up sounding pretty good! Damn. Now I have to keep it haha.
I have struggled with this amp, but perhaps I just didn't dial it in right. I now have it's eq on full which I like.
See what you think.
Al

Thanks Pete.
Yeah it's a quality machine alright, though it needs a refret.
After coming from the scalloped yjm strat to this, I can hardly play it.
I like the push push coil taps which Yamaha own the copyright for. The neck pickup was coil tapped on this clip half way through.
It's on it's 3rd set of replacement pickups. PRS 58/08.
You know how hard it can be to find the right ones.

Thanks Yohai and Cousin.
I did make sure the top end was clear.
And the accents were fun, because of the low gain it had the dynamics to do it.
