Koch amps-amps with an attitude

Postby bluesbrother » 12 Jul 2008, 23:41

What do you think of these amps?
They are made in my country holland. These amps got a sound of there own
and do not try to sound like a big brand name amp.
If i had to decribe it i would say the clean is just as good as fender only much more bassier
and woolier(not sharp but a very round sound.)The overdrive is between marshall and a mesa
It is hard to describe a sound but if you are interested you can listen to there sound samples on
there site or on you tube.
Some alltube models have a built in attenuator which can be set at 0-25-50 watts .You can use a headphone with it too!!
This is very unique and no other amp brand has got that. After i heard the koch multitone i was pleasantly
suprised. The problem with this amp seems to be wether you like the sound or you don't.It does not like
pedals exept boost pedals.I think it would be a good match next to the vintage modern because the clean
of the koch is really special......

I really like this sound(especially clean) and in "my head" this is how i would like
a fender amp should sound. This 50 watter koch twintone II head is now number 1 on my
list.I want to hook it up with the 425A cab.I hope it is a good match because koch themself
use jensen speakers.
G.A.S.... :)
The only downside about this amp i have heard is the overdrive channel for a strange reason
doesn't cut very well through the mix in a band situation.I just use it for blues and i do not play
in a band ...
Paul Reed Smith play koch amps too , so that says something about the quality.
All the best,
Bluesbrother.
