Rotary preamp knob

I turn my Amplifier on and found that my rotary knob was making noises between the preamp notches. The rotary works on the four channels, but the manual channel is screwed up. It's like it's in between notches. Each notch is just dead but when you turn the knob you can hear a little bit of noise between the notches. Anyone have this trouble or had this experience?
