If I had a $48K amp, my sound would still start with my $1.50 fingers

hmmm, i heard the voice of god last week. Mr. Billy Gibbons.
that dude's tone was huge.
i guess we'll never know what amps he was using.
they were nowhere to be seen on stage.
the only amp (parts) visible were 3 floating 4x12 cabs for bass and 3 more for guitar.
impressive stage design.

Wow, buying Dumble looks more like buying nuclear weapons, I think this guy just found out how to make huge money from hype, nothing more. After all its just a box with some wires, electronics and tubes, no magical stuff and yet he made it worth 48.000$, good job HOWARD, ouch, did I just said HOWARD....sorry Alexander HOWARD whatever...
Can't believe how rude this dude is to his customers, 15000$ in advance and you are not allowed to call the fucker, very misterious, and you like wait for years and years, LOL, and finally loose patience and call Mr.Alexander and hes like.... YOU HAVE BROKEN RULE N.1 YOUR MONEY BELONGS TO ME RESISTANCE IS FUTILE... :laugher
Hey what happens when it malfunctions, you need to call CIA to pick it up?

is it delivered by ninjas?

I'd rather buy about 5 high quality different amps that'd cover all possible tones i'd want and be 30k ahead!

Seriously this guy has to be crazy!

Maybe god is actually inside the amp....

robben ford and larry carlton both use dumble amps.
as far as musicianship, ideas, technique and tone, either of these guys could leave most guitar players in the dust in a millisecond.

Thats the only way it would be worth that price. I would pay $48.000 for a sandwich to be delivered by ninjas. :laugh But then again, I love ninjas! Check out the movie Ninja Assassin! It is the coolest ninja movie I have ever seen! THe first five minutes and I decided that it is the best movie ever!!(Not really, But still AWESOME!! And brutally gory! I was actually afraid of the dark after watching it! :bgrin

Their musicianship, ideas, technique and tone have nothing to do with a Dumble amp though. Both were legends and "all that" long before they played a Dumble. Larry used an old tweed Deluxe for most of his legendary work, ala Steely Dan, etc. The hype meter goes to 11 when Dumble is mentioned. I've heard he uses alien technology and magic resistors, lol. Of course, you can't readily retube his amps because the tubes are also top secret and must be ordered years in advance. :whatever

Having a little fun here. But yeah, his food bill must be very high. :tounge

When Robben Ford doesn't feel like rolling out the Dumble he uses a Twin (or Super) Reverb with a ZenDrive and he's admitted that he can pretty much get the same tone as he does with his Dumble.

A dumble is basically a fender twin circuit just like a mesa boogie mark I
i used to have . The overdrive channel however is like alot of low/mid
gain pedals stacked onto each other. The bass/ mids some how interacts
with the gain which gives this thick sustaining sound. With my hermida
audio zendrive II pedal you can adjust this with your amp with the voice
knob. Mr alexander says it are the artifical second harmonics in the tubes
that create the sound but the first zendrive pedal did not have a tube....
mr dumble where are you..... :nope
I love this sound alot and the best dumble sound i have ever heard came
out of a fractial audio axe fx ultra which has 3 !! types of ODS amps.
I love this sound so much that i am going to sell my two marshalls and cab to get this axe FX ultra. I already bought some studiomonitors(i get two behringer B2031A truth next week ) and a mixer for home use. I thought this over for a very long time and actually tried it with comparable gear to see if i really liked it. It is so easy for recording and low volume at home. If i were a gigging musican i definately would stick to the marshalls . The marshalls are definately better with rock riffs
but for a blueslead sound it is exactly how i want it to be......

You are probably thinking............
:wtf

Dumble amps sound great, but they are not worth $48k. Of course, I don't think a 1959 Les Paul is really worth $48k, much less $400k. I would go for a Two Rock or a Carol-Ann for $5k-$6k.
The goal is soul. May the Force be with you.

Only in terms of your choice of monitors, Axe FX seems to be all the rave nowadays. I just like menus/control digging personally though.

The whole dumble thing is definitely hype, and not only he wins off of it. There is a guy who will mod your Fender amps to sound like dumbles for a grand or something. So the claim goes anyway.
