True Plexi Class 5

Saw this earlier today and a little late to the conversation but man that is some fantastic craftsmanship PlexDaddyZman and Welcome. Completely original and something to be proud of. I have a little experience working with Plexi Glass but am curious how you did the weave.

Hi Cousin Muley, Glad to see that I'm not the only Plex Head / Musician in this part of the world.

The Grill Cloth ( if you will ) is made of PETG. Unlike Acrylic/Plex it doesn't break. A cross between Lexan and Acrylic.
One of the secrets is in cutting the strips as this material is saw proof, at least that thin. A word of warning: do not try to run PETG through a table saw at this thickness. Anything under say a 1/4" thickness will catch and throw it back at you. Trust me, I learned the hard way. Each Strip was cut by hand with a razor blade hence the time involved.

That's incredible! That must take some getting used to, to play. Reaching for the drawbars or control tabs would have to feel wierd. It's like they're all suspended in mid air.

Is this a hobby of yours or is this a business that does plexi conversions. Very impressive craftsmanship. I'm up in the Smokies and get into to Nashville a few times a year.

At present this is just a hobby. I work for an exhibit company and build all their acrylic display bonnets. The name of the company is 1220 Exhibits and their clients include just about every major museum in the world. I have been fortunate enough to build for museums such as Country Music Hall Of Fame, Pro Football Hall Of Fame, to name a couple. You can check their website @ 1220 exhibits .com . If you go there make sure to glance at the past jobs section. There you will find the Super Bowl Trophy displayed in a case that I built.
I have just released the photos of side projects done within the last couple of years and now have investors knocking at my door per say but because of the caliber of craftsmen I work with at 1220, it would take a lot for me to leave.
I can build conversions if the price is right but turnaround time would be around 6 months or so.
If you give me fair warning I can arrange a tour of the facility. It is truly amazing the amount of talent from around the world under that one roof. Many musicians as well.
