There are to many issues you will run into trying to covert it to make it cost effective. If you want a head it would be best to sell your combo and buy a new head. You will be way better off doing this.

+2. I was going to convert mine to a head way before the heads came out. It was turning out to be more trouble than it was worth and I gave up on it.

Borek, you could disconnect the Class 5 combo's internal speaker, and then run the combo with Marshall Class5 C110 (10" Speaker Cabinet). Combo stacked with the cab would look terrific.

I'll put a new tube retainers and new holding on el84, and then I see. If it still rattle, I'll disconet speaker and tubes. And then I'll put tubes with controls at the box, that I'll made from plywood( something like head). The only reason that I want to do this, is el84 rattle. This is horrible.

I removed my wire tube retainer not long after I got mine because it was buzzing. That was 2 years ago and I haven't had any problems since then.

Yes, that's the one. I suppose you could replace it with a different type. I didn't replace mine with anything, but I also don't gig and only gets moved around at home.

Curing the rattle is a lot easier and cheaper than converting it into a head. The other forum has a lot of threads on this as well.

It's the chassis, not the tubes
