Replacement for C5 (plastic) handle brackets?

Postby FullMetalHippie » 09 Feb 2013, 13:36

Okay, I am totally geeking out here, but the only thing I would change about the class 5 are the plastic handle brackets, and I guess also the plastic wire mesh top grill for their actual metal counterparts. The mesh is easy but Home Depot did not have anything that would replace the handle brackets.

I think brass would be the correct metal. Anyone have any ideas? :beerme

*It seems a suitcase handle would be similar. ** Actually it looks like the brackets for the 1959 Plexi are what I am looking for.

That's a good site, you'll have to post pic's when you fit them!

Any updates on this? One of my gold plastic handle brackets is cracked and I would like to replace it. I sent a message to Marshall about a replacement, but wouldn't mind replacing it with a metal bracket instead.

Edited for spelling. :doh

It looks like the C5 handle (for the head) is ~ 11" from screw to screw. Please let us know what you hear back from Marshall. :Cheers

Really? It's only 8" from screw to screw on my C5-01 combo.
Marshall e-mailed me for my address and are sending me a stock replacement. (either the bracket or the whole handle, not sure which) So, that's good enough for me. :clap Good customer service from Marshall. :clap

If it breaks down the road then I'll look into a better replacement.

My mistake, I am fairly sure that the handles for the combo and head are the same. It would be nice to find a replacement for the plastic ends since the amps will be around for years of use.
