C110 Custom Shop Cab

Postby djw171 » 13 Apr 2013, 03:16

So it arrived! Here’s the background story; I bought one of the first C5 combos in Canada when they were first released, in green tolex. Having seen other colours on the internet I thought it would be cool to have the combo on top of another C110 cabinet, but in green of course. I actually contacted Marshall direct at the beginning of 2012 and they put me through to Danny in the custom shop. He looked into it and said it would be possible but have to place the order through my local store and thus the Canadian distributor. I got the price and really, my own fault I waited too long, other things came up and I didn’t order. Come late summer I re-contacted Danny but unfortunately since they were not making the C5 anymore he didn’t have cabs left in the woodmill so wouldn’t be able to do it. Again my fault. So skip forward to January 2013, and I see the pin-up C5 range. This gets my wheels turning. I contact Danny, he says place an order though the distributor and he should be able to do it. And here it is…..

Danny also helped me out with the old style block logo for my C5 so this was requested for the cabinet along with the biscuit speaker cloth.

I ran another 1/4” socket in parallel with the extension socket so it will use both speakers. Yes, this knocks the load down to 8ohm but as has been discussed here previously the C5 can handle that no problem.

Many thanks to Danny at Marshall for his great support and service.

It looks and sounds so good!!!!
