Dumb question about he EQ on a Class 5, a JCM 800 and a 1959.
The C5 and JCM both have active EQ's, correct? Meaning that above 5 on the dial (noon) boosts a frequency and below 5/noon cuts it, with 5/noon being neutral.
A 1959 has a passive EQ, correct? Meaning that 10 (roughly 5 o'clock) is neutral (with the exception of Presence) and the EQ can only cut certain frequencies.
SO... A C5 or JCM with all EQ controls set at 5 is the same as a 1959 with all BMT controls at 10. So to EQ a Class 5 or a JCM in a similar fashion to a plexi you need to treat 5 as "wide open" and then work back from there.
Is this reasonably correct or am I missing the mark completely?
