bought a Class5 today

Postby lukemc » 29 Dec 2009, 14:25

picked up a class 5 today, absolutely fantastic amp.
its like marshall made my dream amp specifically for me.
the tone is so fat its unbelievable.
plus the only thing rattling here is my acoustic due to the sheer power and low end this thing puts out.

i love everything about it and it sounds fantastic through the 425a.
i prefer it with the volume at just over half. instant Clapton Bluesbreaker sounds.

when everything is dimed, its crazy! notes jsut turn into harmonic feedback like an octaver.
highly recommended.

thanks surf, and no i live in the UK.
it took a good while for them to get up here in the north of england too,
the guy at the shop said ill just get you a new boxed one from upstairs.
but i declined as i had listened out for any sort of rattling on this paticular one.

also i tried the tiny terror and the vox AC4 next to this and this is in a different league for the tone im after.

ps they look absolutely stunning and are unbeleivably light too.
however heavy heavy you think this amp is in your head, its much lighter!

That is great news, I am looking forward to trying one also even though I am a 100 watt guy. But one should have a little amp for taking up camping into the woods I think. Seriously I would hope that I could find it useful for recording other wise I would have no use for it.

Don't the majority of Marshall's have a barcode on the back that also features the serial number beneath it? I've only seen the front of a Class 5 so I can't be sure but that would be my guess.

OK, just got my Class 5, it looks good in green. Anyhow, so far, no rattles. At the store, we ran it hard for over an hour. Some have said it takes a couple of days to rattle, we shall see. Today, it will get more and more. As for the sound, wicked!!
