Close to Flat frequency Response?

Postby angry_machine » 07 Nov 2012, 10:44

Hi,

In previous checks of some mg series amps I found that treble 0 , mid 12 o clock and low full-It gets to the normal flat or close to flat response on the marshall amps.

Anyone know which is close to the MA's for flat response?

I need it time to time while im changing settings to check how the raw sound is. thanks!

For most guitar amps, full mids with bass and treble at 0 actually gives a near-flat frequency response. The tone stack basically provides equalization for the natural sound of a pickup. So the mid boosts the pickup's normal (midrange) sound. The treble and bass controls on the other hand to the do the opposite. They boost the high and low frequency levels, which gives a balanced response of lows, mids and highs.
