4 CM ?

Postby Zube » 17 Nov 2012, 09:09

is anyone running a multi fx using the 4 cable method ?

I have a old boss gt-3 that i use for delay/chorus/reverb mostly.
I was running a ds-1 for a clean boost in the front of the amp and was using a ge-7 also just to shape a little but i figured id try out this gt-3 using the 4cm. I know how to hook it up but my question is, do you level match the ext/od with your other effects ? also, what do you set the volume knob to on the fx unit (if your using something like a gt-3) basically looking for good settings just to start out with, i can still get the volume knob to respond on the amp with it hooked up this way.. im getting more input volume than output volume under the settings in the gt-3..

any help appreciated.

I have tried, it worked but still it was not good enough for me.
I tweaked and tweaked my GT8 and every time I got something promising I tried my guitar
without it just to compare it.
You know what, AD and DA converting kills every single warm breath what comes
from tube amp. Or I never learned how to tweak it properly.
I still use my GT8 but at home only for practising and hobby home studio work.
It sounds fine through my studio monitors.
I even made patches for simulation of my Vintage Modern but I doubt I'll
ever use it for gigs.
I have somewhere a pdf manual made by one user (not from Rolland)
what can help you go deeper to GT world.
pm me and I'll ve happy to share it with you.
