Sounds pretty fine to me! So my big question is: what makes this a lower-priced entry-level head? Did they cut some corners somewhere?

Sweetwater now has the JMD50 for sale at $599 vs. $699 for the MA50H. Would the JMD be a better choice?

This is another amp design by SteveD of Marshall. Steve was giving a budget and asked to build a great amp that could meet that price point. All of the amps Steve has designed for Marshall kick ass and the MA is no exception. Although it is manufactured in Vietnam to keep the price down it still represents a good bang for the buck.

So it's "Made in UK" versus "Made in Vietnam"? I doubt that is much of an issue....

I my opinion the JMD1 would be a better option. So versatile and it would do the same thing the MA would but much more. To me its a no brainier, The JMD1 would be the one I would select.

Cool review,,,seems to be a good amp for it's targeted demographic. Not my cup of tea tbh, the crunch and gain seem a little SS to me, although I know it's not.

I know it's all about price point but, I'd like to hear it through a 4x12 with greenbacks or something similar. I'm sure it would sound better.

Hopefully it's a great success for Marshall.
