Is it me or do these look better inside than many mass produced amps now adays? From some of the pics on here it looks like the power tubes are mounted to the chassis and good quality circuit boards are used. I don't like some of the connectors but I know that they are much quicker to assemble than solder. I might have to try one of these out at the music store.

We always control the quality of our amps regardless of where they are manufactured. The MA is a good amp.

Tried this amp today, was blown away by the clean, thought that the boost was too mid rangey.
However for the overdrive, this is a case of having to have it 5+ on the master volume for it to scream.

The Presence and Resonance make a big difference when operating at different volume levels. Personally I set the Resonance to off and the Presence to 3 o'clock at gigging volume, but at apartment volume, I set the Presence to off and the Resonance from 3 o'clock to maximum.

EQ pedal in effects loop makes wonders, it sure did change my MA boost channel to another level.
So, my advice for ultimate MA sound...clean bost + EQ in effects loop, I tried this at store where I bought MA and guys were really impressed.

I have got to try that trick next time I am over at my loal shop. I am lucky enough to be able to test drive heads and combos at "real" volumes when I plan my trip ahead of time.

I like the MA heads cranked and running through a 1960 cab.

We went wild at rehearsal this weekend, put some ear protection on and tried to play loudest we can and play black sabbath, just because we can lol. My MA was at 8.5, and it was loud as jumbo jet. Drummer was hitting cymballs like maniac, bass was moving furniture around, and my MA with SD-1 in effects loop was screaming , very happy with the sound.
Few friends came along, and they are used to our normal volumes, and we didn't tell them about this experiment, and it was funny watching them shake heads and that :wtf look on faces haha.
Anyway, I am happy it sounds great now in bedroom as it sounds played cranked.
