how can i get rid of some bass?

Postby mkstylee » 08 May 2012, 09:31

Hi all .
My jtm 45 reissue was comverted back to 65' specs by the previous owner and i was warned 'don't have the bass past 2 or it gets boomy' i believe the conversion included KT66 valves and all the mods from the raw sawage jtm/bluesbreaker site to bring it in line with a 65'
Well he was'nt wrong 2 is far too much .i know the originals were just a bassman clone of sorts and would be bassy but i would like to clean it up a bit i've ordered some higher gain pre valves to pust it a bit harder and would like any thoughts guys? Are stock jtm 45 with the 5881 valves bassy?

Have you tried all of your guitars? And also maybe some effects?
"O Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief." (Psalm 143:1, NIV)
