whats the value of the metal film resistor (there 2 on the board) which I think gives premp voltage ?? I was thinking something like 10k or 8.2k but the one on the board (you can see also on Marshall site theres a view of the board) seem to me a completely different part... do MF have different color codes ???

Can you be specific about which resistor you are referring to. Do you mean the three 10K / 2W metal oxide HT droppers.

A photo with the area in question highlighted would be beneficial to your question.

yes those ones, I am looking specifically to the metal film next to the NFB resistor.. is it a 10k ?? I ask 'cause I have in mind to drop resistor value in my 1959HW to have more voltage on preamp tubes and get more open tones (a la Jimmy Page ;-) )

oh BTW... why you say 3 ??? I only see 2 ... http://www.marshallamps.com/product.asp ... Type=SEEIT

There should be one across the terminals of the large 32uF + 32uF cap mounted to the left of the inputs. That resistor is not visible due to the angle of the photo.

All HT droppers are 10K / 2W metal oxide on the SUPER100JH.

Steve,
youre one of the kindest persons Ive ever met in a forum so please forgive me if I ask you another question : S100JH preamp tubes voltage is higher than the one in 1959HW ??
I ask 'cause I have in mind to buy a 1959HW raise preamp tubes voltage and put KT88 in it (sound familiar ??? ;-)))) )

The SUPER100JH HT voltage is 530V like the Vintage Modern. The 1959 is usually around 500V so there is a difference in the available voltage.
