I'm not sure how many of you get Guitar Center circulars in the mail. I certainly do. The new one has Joe Perry on the front. (Looking like an ass, if you ask me, with some BS Fu Manchu facial hair. But that's beside the point.)

Anyway, my copy has a seemingly amazing deal on page 33 . . . .

Actually, I think Guitar Center needs to hire some proofreaders. The fine print says List $3370.00. 40% off. None of this adds up to $699.99. As best I can tell, 20% off of $3370 is $2699. My guess is that the ad is supposed to say $2699.99 rather than $699.99.

Anyone want to join me in trying to get GC to honor the printed deal? That could be fun. :cuss

In Oz there will be fine print on the back of the circular (or wherever they hide it) that will have E.&O.E. , which is the abbreviation of Ërrors & Omissions Excepted" - basically their ass-covering in case of printer / proof-reader errors. I'm reckoning there will be similar in the US (you guys are the land of the lawyer after all!!)

Yeah, we have that language too, but the error is such a whopper and there's not just one error, either. I just thought maybe it'd be nice to have some fun with the GC guys.

I tried to redeem a similar typo ad for a JVM410 for $238 dollars when they first came out. Somebody forgot a zero. There is an errors clause in the ads and they had signs up all over the store.

The GC's already have it posted as an error at every check out area. The ad won't be honored.
