Guess what!

Postby Mats A » 09 Jun 2014, 21:44

According to a music shop in Stockholms web page they had a JCM 2000 DSL 100W that wasn't used in. So i called them i so it was they had both the new and this. It was made in 2011 but he thought they got it in 2012. It was also a bit cheaper than normally. So since i do seem to like the DSL and it surves what i need two channels is just what i need. So i thought what the hec and ordered it. I figured a newer must be more reliable. Maybe i keep both or maybe i sell the old.

New gear, congrats, that's a lot of juice. Hook em both up and peel some paint!

Yeah two heads must be better than one! Maybe i can set them up like a JVM and have one louder for solos maybe.

What is great on the SL-X and the JVM is the two switchable master volumes. All amps should have that.

Keep both and make a stereo rig assuming you have a stereo cabinet. This way you can mix them and get the best sound. Nothing like running a good delay in stereo.

That is a good thought Surf. After all my amp buys lately. I used to have and use a DSL 50w from 98-07. If look at my needs two channels is what i need. I've tried to like the JVM but i just can't. Way to little or too much gain. Most often i used justone or two channels and only one mode on each. I will never need 4 channels. I do like the Split Channel 2205/2210 and the Dual Reverb 4100. But somehow i think they lack a little in dynamics compared to the DSL. Maybe it's the diodes and them not having only valve distortion.

So until Marshall comes up with a new great amp that is not a signature amp so it will be DSL for me.

Yeah i think they're both great. But i don't want a multichannel amp. I want a great amp with not so many knobs on it.
