reverb not working

Postby PS1984 » 26 Feb 2015, 23:03

Couple day ago I starded here a thread about my JCM 900 model 4100 from 1992, full of happiness. Now I´m little sad...

Well, the age takes first victim - reverb. :(

Yesterday, when I played suddenly reverb stop worked. On both channels. Cables looks OK, everything is connect.

What can it be?

:help

Ok, first try to disconnect the RCA cables to the reverb tank then reconnect them and see if that returns it's operation, they might be looose or dirty.

Next, are you engaging the reverb with a foot pedal or the front of the amp?

I tried your procedure, but nothing happend. Reverb is still silent.

I just played and i wanted to add reverb volume so a turn the knob and reverb goes silent. That was how it happend.

I don´t have footswitch now. so I have reverb either turn or turn off.

Alright, what you need to look at next is whether any of the wires have become disconnected in the reverb tank as this is a common issue. They will break off after repeated vibration becuase the wires are very small. Take the tank out and look inside. Can you post a high res pic of the tanks guts? that would help.

Next question is do you know how to solder or know some one that can?

OK, I´m able to put the reverb tank out. But I´m not able to do soldering. But that´s not problem because I have guy for it.

Tomorow I can add here a photo.
