Learning guitar online worth your time?

Postby mattBaines » 30 Aug 2019, 14:45

Hey all,
So my son has been developing an interest in guitars lately. So, my wife and I were thinking of joining him for guitar classes. But we don't have any good ones nearby. Also, I wanted to make sure if the guitar was for a long time. As you know, the kids at this age show interest in everything at the same time, they lose interest very fast. So, before joining guitar classes, I was thinking of enrolling him for online guitar classes. After a while, if he really thinks, the guitar is what really he wants.
Any suggestions people?
MATTHEW BAINES :)

I think it's worth a shot. Don't invest too much at first but nowadays guitars that are relatively cheap can play quite well so see where it takes him. He might not go full bore into it and may even stop completely at some point but then he may pick it back up once the seed is planted.

Oh and let him watch Jimi live at woodstock, that usually gets them good.

I think your cautious optimism is warranted for sure. I definitely think that's the way to go. Take advantage of the times.

You say "kids at this age" but fail to say what his age is. From your previous post he will now be 3 years old, unless you had another one knocking around.

I still use this site when I want to learn a song fast. There are many great online teachers for playing guitar.
