Disgrace, I can see it now... Thousands of kids claiming to be the next guitar god. A whole generation already grew up on air guitar or guitar hero and now this :barf

I think it pretty cool, won't replace a Strat into a Marshall but it's another voice, same way we aren't all playing Synth guitars since they came out. This is far from a guitar hero controller, read about it before condemning. I have a Korg Kaossilator and that is alot of fun as well. Touchpad devices are cool, tie it into a fretboard we already know and sounds cool to me.

Surf, don't you have a MIDI rig already? This is just the next step.

Yes I use a Godin and the midi can be mapped through my GR20 or any of my boards as well as VSTs. I guess you could find uses for weird sounds but there is no precision with these touch pads. My first thought was "uhhhg" but you are right I should try it before opening my piehole but it doesn't appeal to me.

Interesting stuff really. Carrying the Zackfex gizmos to the body of a guitar for manipulation from the player's hands (rather than feet) a la Matt Bellamy style from Muse.

I would go as far as to say Hendrix himself would have been moving in this direction if he'd still been with us!

Regarding the digital guitar in the first post :barf at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if it heralds the 'shape of things to come' when it develops and evolves. Don't think I'll be around though.
Still my guitar gently weeps

I have a thing like that on my Roland Fantom X6 keyboard where you can manipulate the pitch and velocity of a pad with the movement of your hand. It is cool to play with and you could impress the average drunk in the crowd looking like you were doing some invisible magic, but honestly there are so few times when you would want a sound like this in your music.
