Just picked up a '78 Les Paul that had an already known issue with the input jack. Seems if you put a little pressure on your guitar cable enough to move the cable jack it sounds like it grounds out on something inside (as in it makes a loud humm/buzz with no sound of strings). So I pulled the jack out and its one of the ones that is contained in a little metal can (must be for shielding or something). Can these be pulled apart to look inside?? It looks like one part is just press-fitted onto the other, but I've tried with a bit of force to pull it apart but no go. I'm going to spray a little contact cleaner in there to try and help it out, but it really sounds like something is making contact with something it isn't supposed to. It's not a life or death problem, just annoying when your leg bumps the jack or you step on the cord a little and you get a loud BUZZZZZZZZ.
