It looks really great!!
I really like the grille cloth because i also like the more classic look( good move)
Faze i know you have a vibroking and i know very little about fenders......
Would a super reverb give about the same sound ?
I red on the internet that a super reverb has more bass tone than a twin reverb and
therefore sound more bluesier.A twin reverb sound more soulfull.I do not know if this is true?
Recently i heard somebody play a vibroking and it sounded very , very ...good!
A vibroking is too expensive for me so i wondered if the super reverb has about the
same voicing?

Re: Vibro King/ Super Reverb

Thanks Faze for the thorough explanation. It is really Helpfull.
(i think you made a type mistake:the twin is 2-12 and 85 watts and the super is 4-10 and 45 watts,
no biggie i understand what you ment).
The volume on the vintage modern 50 watter is just perfect for me.So the 45 watts on the super reverb would be
too.The twin i think is like a vox-ac30 and that one was way too loud for me!
With the vm i get a sick bluestone with a les paul (neck pick-up) and a treble booster.(germanium mullard OC44)
This type of sound i want with my strat too so i ordered from boost switch pedals THE DOGZ. This is a OD1-
tubescreamer pedal with germanium transistors and he describes it as much fuller sounding. On high range i use
clean boost. My boostswitch pedals i use on low range. When i got this pedal i will let you know how it sounds with
my strat.I guess it is gonna be a used vibroking or a new super reverb.......
Thanks again!!!

I have had a epiphone sheraton which is a 335 style guitar. The pickups were louzy but this
guitar sounded amazing no matter what amp plugged into....
I never should have sold this guitar, it sounded better than the 2 les pauls i got now.
Maybe one day i go back to that guitar and sell the les pauls since they are almost semi/
hollow bodies nowadays. My strat with SCN pickups i will never sell.
Better is a bb king guitar( epi or gibson) without soundholes .Works better on high volume.
All the best bluesbrother

This is my 1997 limited addition Plexi modded by Tim Pinnell
at http://www.topgearguitar.com/tghome/

Tim did an awesome job on this head. Tim took some of the high treble out of it
and put a master volume in the back. Now at any volume level this amp sounds like pure rock and roll.
It can get down right nasty and raunchy yet clean up really well when rolling back my guitar volume.

I changed my pinstripe grill to the salt and pepper grill to give this combination a more classic look.
Just like the VM this grill is sorta like a chameleon it changes colors.
Sometimes it looks gold sometimes it looks grey and it really complements the Vm Cab IMHO.
What modifications is he doing? Can´t find it in the link.

Are these the semaritan cobalt noiseless pickups?
I heard these are some good pickups[/quote]

Yes., the samarian cobalt noiseless pickups are great.
Actually it are mini humbuckers designed by pick-up goeroe Bill Lawrence,
so that explains why they are 100% noisefree. The S-1 switch on my guitar is also great(deluxe strat)

I think a sheraton is just as good as a gibson if you change for better pickups.
If i buy one again i would take the epi lucille without the soundholes.

I promise i make a review of the pedal. It is on it way from england to me.

The '59 Bassman is a great amp. Only drawback is no reverb.

I think the Vibro King is the best amp Fender has ever made. It has the Fender reverb, the separate Fedner unit, built-in. The tone is amazing.
I don't get why someone would want to mod it to sound like a Super. Get a Super!
The VK has more of the tweed thing going, especially cranked. A Bassman definitely is a lot closer to the tone than a Super.
Drawbacks is the VK is freakin' heavy!!!
The best Fender tones I ever had was my '57 AVRI Strat and the VK, from beautiful clean tones, to outstanding overdrive, great for blues, or anything else really.
Crossroadsnyc douche of the year, and everyone at TGP tied for 2nd
