Spin doctors still sound great

Postby Thrash master » 01 Sep 2013, 23:40

I caught the spin doctors tonight, I should have gotten pics or sound for you guys tonight because the sound was amazing, but I had the fam with me it was a free show in the downtown park here in Spokane we have a badass 4 day event every Labor Day called pig out in the park. 4 days of free live bands on 4 stages and tons of food vendors with nothing over 9$ a plate. Tonight the spin doctors were the headliner . I must say Eric schenkmans tone was killer super simple but killer just a gibson sg through a wah an over drive he kicked in from time to time ( couldn't get a good view of what it was but those were def the only 2 pedals in sight) and then into 2 jmp half stacks running at full steam. Just a great sound and he's the kind dynamic player who can really work that rig over it was a really enjoyable show. Sometimes we all get caught up in complicated or high tech rigs and its refreshing to see someone kill it old school with a cranked jmp. On a side note he played an epiphone natural Finish Flying V on several songs that sounded great.
Non Marshall's include 6505+, carvin quad x, fender champ, gen 1 flextone, orange tiny terror, fractal/atomic reactor 18, mesa f30
Scads of ibanez, bc rich, prs, and esp's

I haven't heard them since their debut album, but I do remember really liking Eric Schenkman's tone and playing.
