Anyone tube experts here have a preference between these that are listed.

not a tube expert but mine liked-
"V1 is the most important tube. I would start with a Tung-Sol hand selected, low noise 12AX7. Then For V2 a Mullard hand selected, low noise, high gain. You can then run a Ruby or a Svetlana in V3. (Does not need to be balanced.) "
Ruby or Svets for power. they're good durable tubes. mine were 6550's but EL34's are the same.
that is for a warm classic JMP to Plexi sound w/ lots of sweet harmonic feedback even @ lower volumes (depending on how you run the pre & master knobs),not some Zakk Wylde modern buzzsaw BS . :whatever

lots of bad press on JJ EL34 as weak glass & darker sounding so take that as you may.
keeping it loud- JMP-1 rack,LPs,strats,& way too much other gear.

Yeah, I've heard that about JJ, although I have them in one of my amps. I was thinking Mullard in the power section. I usually put EH in the Pre amp, I really have no idea what's best, or if the EH are good. I personally have had good luck with them. I usually just put in whatever is available, GT's EH's are what I see the most here. I'm going to a new amp guy, as they are not common where I live, and I have to drive an hour to get to him.

I had JJ EL34s/12AX7 in my '79 2203, sounded great.

My YJM will have Groove Tube EL34M when they need to be replaced, nothing but great feedback on those. Something to think about for the 2203, perhaps.
