JMP footswitch with MIDI?

Postby Arek » 26 Mar 2015, 08:46

Is the 4 button footswitch that comes with JMP-1 MIDI?
I would like to use it with Eleven Rack.

The pins don't match, but I can probably build an adapter with external power supply.
Something where you can plug in MIDI cord on one end (coming from 11R), power supply to get the LEDs going, and the original Marshall DIN on the other end going directly to footswitch.

Tips?
Suggestions?
Wiring?
My current band:

My current stage setup:
Mayones Lizard Pro, Jackson San Dimas and Gibson Les Paul Goldtop replica through 11R.

yes,it's midi but it's that funky (proprietary) 6 pin configuration & I don't know what's what as far as the pins go.
I'm sure you can mod it but wouldn't it just be easier to buy a standard 5 pin midi foot controller for the JMP-1 & Eleven rack? that's what I use & it has a lot more presets/options than the 4 button Marshall board.

here's the JMP-1 manual-

keeping it loud- JMP-1 rack,LPs,strats,& way too much other gear.

The thing is that I like the simplicity of 4 buttons and I am selling the JMP-1 (by the way $500 plus shipping with footswitch)
I also have FCB1010 and Controll 8 foot controllers (by the way: available for sale), but would much rather have a simple 2 or 3 button midi footswitch to control 11R.
Playing in Iron Maiden tribute, all I need is "clean", overdriven and solo channels.
The rest is in the fingers and volume knob to dial stuff inbetween.

With my previous amp Road King, I built simple 2 button footswitch. One button toggling between clean and overdriven, and the second button turning on the solo boost.
I was able to re-wire it for ElDiablo when I sold the King, but 11R does not have that kinda outs.

can you control the Eleven rack w/ a usb foot switch? this might be an option (UMI3)-

Tech 21 makes the Midi Mouse which is probably too simple-

homegrown 4 button on EBAY for $89.00-

Randall also makes a 4 button-

Thanks for the suggestions.
I will find out about 11R and USB controller.
They're much cheaper than MIDI.
In the mean time I have ordered Randall RF4 from lamusic.ca (about 4 weeks ago).
They are still waiting for them to arrive from supplier before they send it to me.

I would have cancelled the order if not for the good price and that I have two other controllers I can use in the interim.
...by the way: they are for sale: FCB1010 and Digitech Controll 8.
