MG2CFX

Postby Karnac » 21 Nov 2013, 17:00

Does any have this amp and have an unbiased review compared to other mini amps? I cannot find one locally to try out and can only go by YouTube. The clean bluesy tone sounded good I thought. Seems MG isn't a well received model when I have asked this question in other forums.

Its not meant as a serious amp, more of a thing you would keep on your desk at work or take camping with you. I responded to your other post about a good beginner amp.

I had to google it, never heard of it 'til this thread...

That will probably be the norm - sorry.

Well the Marshall YouTube demo was good I thought. I really liked the clean sound of it for what it is. The reviews on the web are lacking but promising, one stated it is right up there with a Blackstar ht-1r I believe. This is one killer little tube amp and would really like to hear something on the lil MG. The local guitar shop don't have one as of yet to check out. Thought this would be great for traveling for work or at night so I don't want to wake my wife n daughter.

I have a lot of crickets on this amp on other forums...

big difference between the 2- the BS HT-1 is tube, this one is not. there's also the $200 dollar difference in price.
for travelling & headphone jamming maybe look into a couple of these.you can get 3 or 4 for the price of that lil' Marshall & they do have great tone-

I thought that was something to state that the Marshall compared to the tube amp, and your right for $200 price difference. The Vox amplugs are ok but I was just looking for actual owners review here on the Marshall forum. I probably would not buy an amplug but the amphones. I have the iRig for my iphone right now, sure works fine but the cords are a pain. The iPhone some how always fines a way to become a weight and dangle from your ear buds lol.

If the purpose is for mainly for carrying around while traveling, this would be tough to beat.

Pretty impressive little beast.

I will have to test (hear) them side by side when I can get to a store.
