Wonderful amp, congrats. I knew someone who when using it at home, used a blackstar tube overdrive in front and the amp on low. Sounded great.

Great choice. From what year is it? Tried it with an attenuator?

Its 2004 model and yes I use it with a jattenuator too loud for home use without it. Want another weber mass when funds allow I like the high boost switch on them the jettenuator looses a lot of the highs.

How low can you go in volume? I borrowed a Weber Mass and tried it with a JCM 2000 DSL 100W and it was still too loud at the lowest volume. Also it started to come smoke from the Weber Mass and a bad smell. Later i red that was as it should on a newer Weber Mass.

I can get down to nothing but don't like to run that way as it puts too much strain on the tubes ,the amp itself and the attenuator I run it wide open it still takes a good amount of volume off just wish I could get some highs back, you say a 2000 DSL I only use a attenuator with non master amps as that's what the master if for ,Still prefer the weber ,in fact I still prefer no attenuator but my neighbours and the police don't.

There are some really good post phase inverter master volume circuits now. No need to floor the power tubes like with an attenuator. I am very happy with the MV Sligo installed on my 1959SL.

Weber MASS 150 is what they told me I should get to run 100 watt amps. I think that an attenuator with a little bit of a cut from the PPIMV would likely be a god balance.

40th birthday present.

It works on any valve Marshall. But i had a Weber 100 and you couldn't get down to zero volume with it. Isn't there a knob and some switch to attenuate? I have a Marshall Power Brake and the lowest on that is loud at home.
