Marshall prices going up in Europe

Postby Marker » 20 Jun 2015, 05:01

I dunno if anyone else noticed but the last week saw another bump in Marshall prices for Europe.
Currently the 1959HW is already at 2450 €, a 2203 at 2200€, the 2555x is aproaching 1500€,...

Let's see if this is the right pricing strategy.

Do you think it could just be the british pound going up versus the euro?
Still when the pound collapsed 7 years ago i am not sure gear price went down in the euro zone...

I think that is exactly why.

You're probably right, I hadn't tought about it.
Just checked, since January 2015 the GBP has increased it's value 10% over the Euro.

Still companies adapt their pricings to these flutuation so that they can keep selling; 2000 € for a 1987x, 2200 € for a 2203, 2450 € for a 1959HW is a lot of money, with these prices I wonder how many of these amps are sold in Europe.

Not many i guess... I wonder if most buyers would actually be members here... Or at least visitors... Surf prob has some stats...
Could explain why Marshall were rushing into mass market products prior to releasing new amps...
