Anybody knows if Danny Kustow in Tom Robinson Band used a master or none master volume Marshall in the 70's? If he used a 50 or 100W amp? He has a great tone and plays with great feeling.

1975 2204 Master Volume, cool guitar player for sure.

Thanks Surf. Thought his amp had that before 1976 look with the gold piping. It must have been one of the earliest master volumes. Wasn't it the first 50 or 100W master volume Marshalls that people complained about that they couldn't get much distortion at lower levels since the channels were not cascaded?

Not sure about any of that. Back then there were "some" of those amps where guys had said that, was not the case in all of them. Sent you a PM with his email address if you want to ask him yourself.

Thanks Surf! Hope he replys. I've red that on the earliest 50 or possible 100W master volumes the channels were not cascaded. They were like a Standard with a master volume.

I wonder if he plugged straight in or used some kind of booster?
