Marshall Branded Tubes?

Postby The Ballzz » 03 Feb 2016, 23:16

Does anyone know the possibility or how of actually getting some specific Marshall numbered JJ preamp tubes? After collecting and rolling a fair sized pile of current production tubes in several of my amps, I keep coming back to the best overall sound/tone/gain/noise balance being both a Marshall VLVE-00066 ECC83S JJ Low Microphony Red Logo and a VLVE-00067 ECC83S JJ Low Microphony Red Logo. I realize there are likely some NOS items that may be as good and/or better, but these came in V1 of a couple amps and just "have it all" by comparison to the other CP units on hand.
Thanks 2 All,
Gene

Actually good question... I would also like to know where to get Marshall branded tubes... Would be good to be able to go back to original tubes to keep the original tone... Marshall could also make more money out of spare parts...

Probably Marshall dealer's can order them for you.
At least that is if the factory still use them.

Prolly depends on when it was made. I still have original Marshall tubes from my 6100 and these were Sino tubes. What they used later i don't know.

In the past I have ordered valves from the Marshall Spares department direct.
I would be very suprised if there were any difference between the Marshall badged and the JJ badged. We all know how much of a lottery valves are nowadays - I think you may have just got lucky with a couple of good ones.

I have a box full of Marshall branded tubes. When I recently got my new Astoria I quickly pulled the power tubes and V1 V2. None of my amp a loaded with all Marshall tubes.

Do you have any of the 00066 or 00067 code ECC83 tubes? If so, are you interested in selling them? You can PM me to work out details. I'm in Las Vegas 89119 and I am PayPal-ish.

Thanks,
Gene

Thing is I think I shot them all up in that video where I was blasting the JJs with my shotgun. I did find him two though.
