Yeah, I did a little more digging on that speaker. Looks like you might be right about that being a Celestion made for Marshall during the JTM era, G12 Heritage-T4661. Other than that I couldn't really find much info.faze wrote:Livewire thanks I checked the back of the speaker and it just says Heritage Celestion G12 and has a 16 ohm sign on it. I think it may be just a special made speaker that Marshall had for the JTM series they had back in the day. Maybe Steve D knows? I have had a hard time researching this speaker it does sound pretty good though it is loud and has some good low end especially
for it being a open back 1/12 Cab. Thanks again for the response.
I so agree - cranked, the 2061x amp is phenomenal beyond words...faze wrote:Yes it is loud and has better head room then I anticipated not as much headroom as the Remedy howeverLivewireBlanco wrote:I dig my 1974X and is pretty similar to the 2061X except for the tube rectifier. It's a damn loud 20 watts I bet! Something about these handwired amps just sets them apart from the rest.
overall tone wise the Marshall just sounds way more organic and rich.
I've had it for about a year or so. I was lucky to find it on eBay from a seller who found it "too loud for his home studio". His loss, my gain.faze wrote:So how long have you had yours?
faze have you tried it with a single V30 open back cab?faze wrote:Well all I know is I am glad I found this amp it has surpassed my expectations. It is perfect for my playing situations. I can relate to why Jimmy likes it.
Obviously he was mic'd into the PA right?Mr. Mother Head wrote:I saw Richie Kotzen with one of these last week playing a 600 person venue. Sounded awesome, plenty loud. He used some delay for solos every now and then, but it was mostly just his tele and the amp. I was well impressed.
