Joe Bonamassa 5/1 Pentatonic patterns

Postby cragginshred » 19 Mar 2013, 21:46

Hope someone finds this helpful. I wish someone would have shown me these 30 years ago. Played with a Les Paul traditional with Bonamassa signature Duncan pups and an Axe Fx II with a Marshall Plexi type pre set and RCF monitors

Sweet, thanks. I had never heard of this forum before last night. Maybe someone can springboard off these ideas and share some other licks???

That is a tasty run, a good lead in for some hard hitting blues licks. BTW nice music room. Welcome to the Roadhouse.

Nice, I'm going to work on those.
Many Marshall's, and I want more.

Nice technique, thanks for sharing.
Nice studio too bro.
It does add weight to my theory that Bonamassa is all flash and little style or emotion.
I just can't jive with whatever he's trying to convey.
To me he sounds dead, like a teenage shredder in a music store but with awesome tone.
Dime that puppy!!!

I never really was into Bonamassa until I heard him mix the feel with the rippin stuff like this. I come from a Vinnie Moore, Randy Rhoads shred type background but have morphed my my style more towards classic rock. However, I still like a flurry of notes that are tasty of course, and these patterns are life changers for me. Maybe not your cup of tea Papus but I will opt to disagree with your assessment of Joe, respectfully of course.
Live free glad you dug it! Anything outside the boring position one box always gets my attention -EJ,.. Andy Timmons ect!
