JMD FX Loop Mix

Postby The Luke » 12 Jul 2012, 05:02

Just received my JMD:1 100w head about an hour ago, and I am loving it so far.

Quick question, I do not have anything plugged into the FX Loop, but if I engage it using the button on the front panel, and the mix is set to about 6, I get a volume increase.

Is this normal?

Setting it to 0 or 10, and engaging it does not change the volume, but as I sweep through the mix control, the volume increases, peaks at about 6, then goes back down to unity.
The +4dBu/-10dBV switch does not make a difference to this behaviour.

Thanks :)

Rise from the dead!!

So if I’m in switch mode, is there a button on way he foot switch that controls the FX button on the front panel? I’m looking for the best way to have a solo boost on this amp.

Thanks

In 'switch store mode' you can assign the FX button to any switch on the floor controller. In preset mode you can simply create patches with louder Master Vol settings.
Still my guitar gently weeps

Thanks Steve. Did you mean to say louder Chanel volume settings as opposed to louder master volume? I thought the master volume in this amp was not able to be saved in any presets...is that right?

Yes sorry, I meant the individual patch (master) volume which is of course simply labeled 'volume'.

To set program the foot switch to boost the effects loop volume up. So my rig is set up as Clean w chorus, 2 is clean plexi with verb, 3 slightly over driven JCM800 w chorus, 4 heavy over driven JCM 800 w flange. The effects can be switched on and off w swith 5, and lead boost is switch 6. Now if you want to turn the JMD into a fire breathing swiss knife plug in a midi pedalboard. The midi switch will open up all programs and the marshall pedel board will turn on and off effects. Many here like Surf have more experience doing this. I play w it but I am a simple person four channels are enough for me. I run a wah and talk box in front of the amp; no other effects. Sorry for late post...
