My thoughts on the Maxon OD-820

Postby TheLesPaul101 » 16 Sep 2011, 17:52

Very good pedal! it is great and under-rated. It is basically a twangy tubescreamer. I liked it better than the 808. It can still do that Joe Bonamassa and SRV style stuff but it can do even more than that. Great, Great, Pedal.

The only problem is that the footswitch gets little hairy after a while (I just got mine but my friend has one and he has had his for about 4 years)

Just my review but it is definitely a pedal to check out.
Guitars: Fender CS Stratocaster, Guild GAD C-1, Morelli "Flaxwood Custom"
Amps: Fender Blues JR., Roland Cube 30x
Effects: Maxon OD808--> Maxon OD820-->BBE Sonic Stomp-->Boss DD-20 Giga Delay w/ Boss FS-5U-->Strymon Flint

I had one for a while. Definitely my favorite in the stock Ibanez/Maxon Tube Screamer family.

Cool pedal, the Maxon VOP9 is pretty sweet too and worth checking out.
