Slash amps on the road

Two weeks ago I was at Slash concert. :slash
Before the show with my son we have mostly locked at the amps
on the stage. I guess Slash didn't play the AFD 3 pices in stack.
At the guitar tech corner he has 1 AFD and I think old JCM.
(nothing new but I took a picture for us).

I think he didn't use those 3 AFD's on stage. Check the red light. Only one is on (on the left side every amp)
His sound was HUGE as I think is a little oposite to AFD mod.

BTW. Anybody knows what kind of tubes does Slash use? Groove Tubes as I know but which?

PS. GREAT SHOW!!!

Yeah, the AFDs on the top of the stacks are for show. His sound comes from two amps in a rack, one of which is an AFD100.

When I saw him last november the stacks on-stage were being used as slave amps (well, one at least!)

The 3 afds on stage are actually fake, just head cabinets and LEDs there's a vid on YouTube that confirms it, they are just there as the audience expects to see Marshall stacks. His current set up is an AFD blended with a jcm800 reissue that's rebiased for 6550s, that was based on the rig Chet haun designed for him which had a jcm800 reissue/AFD blended with one of the original silver jubilees

Thanks for confirming that....That something I have always wondered myself. Probably just wants to give the audience a "club setting" feel to the gig, and I can respect that.

I would like to see Slash try out (knowingly) and possibly record with an old Plexi, but one that isn't modded. Maybe kind of a blues album like he did with "Blues Ball" back in 97. He does the Hard Rock thing so well, but there is a certain blues element to his playing that is very simple (been done before) but very effective.

A white Gibson ES-175 & Mesa Boogie Head with 4x12 Cabinet with EV speakers in the bottom and Celestions on top. I believe that is AFD Signature Izzy lol

I'm pretty sure izzy used a couple of Jackson "super" teles on the record as well a la the SCOM video, there's a credit to Jackson guitars on the album I believe and duff used a jackson bass some say that was for the Jackson that slash did the scratch tracks on but that wasn't loaned or provided by Jackson so I wouldn't see that as worthy of a thankyou credit
