V30 if you want to get close to the slash sound.
I prefer greenbacks ..
Its funny cuz Slash is most often identified with V30s but his recorded tones are done with his trusted 100watt Greenback 4x12...thats why the AFD100 sounds so good with them. I think the reason is because its just been recently in the last few years that information on his recording setups is seeing the light of day. I love how Adam Day used to say Slash just uses a regular mid 80s JCM 800 in the studio, in reality a hot rodded one! lol.
So its basically like this...
For Slash's recorded tones: Greenbacks
Live tone: V30s
Not to say Slash has never done a song on an album with V30s but from AFD to Use Your Illusions,Snake Pit,Velvet Revolver & his solo album its been his same 100watt Greenback 4x12 and SM57 mic to record nearly every one of those songs.
Live its always V30s! :)

So a 1936 or a 1936 V30 should do the trick then... or better yet, a 1960AX.
I'm not looking to duplicate Slash' sound other then as a curiosity when my friends are visiting...
In that case its Greenbacks if you want to acurately produce his recorded tones. He's only used V30s with the AFD/#34 tone live recently.
