This sounds better than JMD

Postby bluesbrother » 09 May 2011, 11:12

The santana tones this guy pulls out of the AFD100 amp sounds
better than i get on the JMD.
I am not a slash fan at all but for this type of music it sounds really
really good. I had a mesa boogie mark I just like carlos but that amp
only sounded good with gain / volume/master all at 7 and 100 watt
through one speaker is well .........bonecrushing.
Does this amp sounds very fenderisch clean just like the Vintage
modern? Can it do blues or is it just higain only?
Pretty impressive amp :Thumbs

Could probably do blues, cleans are almost non existant with humbuckers without using the guitar volume. But can get some semi-cleans at lower settings.
Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Classic, Gibson Midtown Custom, Fender American Standard Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster.
Amps: Marshall Vintage Modern, Marshall JTM Offset, Vox AC15.
Past Marshalls: 1987x, JVM410H, SL5, JMP1, 1960AX, 1936.

That is also why i like the vintage modern so much:
beautiful blues with a pedal in low range and totally rock out
in high range . Kinda like the idea of a single channel amp with
two modes. The five preamp tubes exceed the four in the VM gainwise.
While i play very different things than slash , we got the same taste
for tone.
I would love to hear somebody plays hendrix or joe bonamassa stuff
over this amp......that would be :coool
