Great thanks! That is why i get this kind of older Marshall feel from this amp :yea
is the extra stage placed in the beginning of the preamp like a kind of booster or inside the preamp?

extra stage is put in between the 2nd (10k) and third (820). The original #36 is not a super T. It was a 1977 Jmp...

Can you cite that? Everything I have read/heard has referred to it as an early 70's Super T.

Yeah, #39 was a super t and rented to George Lynch during the time appetite was recorded. It was in guns contract to have that amp, but due to a mistake it got "double booked". So the techs at SIR had to come up with an amp for Guns. So the techs, Glen Buckley and Frank Levi copied the Mod done to sir#39 to sir stock #36. #36 was a JMP from 1977. I am in contact with Frank Levi and he sent me his personal data base of marshalls that he worked on around that time frame. It had the make model and serial#s of #36 #39 and #34. Pretty interesting to see his list of clients.

Also, heres a link to the story of the legendary amps. It also states that #36 was not a super T. For some reason (among gnr amp nerds like myself :laugh ) it is pretty common that people think #36 was a super T ?

Then the story must be wrong that it was an early 70´s Marshall if it was a JMP.
