AFD100 - I LOVE IT

Postby brotor » 11 Aug 2011, 11:53

Just discovered this forum. Fantastic to see that there still are people posting and talking about the amp after afd100.com fell asleep. As to my AFD, it has really grown on me, and I have nothing to complain about. It's a real versatile amp. you can get so many different sounds out of it, all from the cleanest blues to the powerful r&r type. I have been practicing and gigging with it since I got it in february and it really gets the best out of me. Hope to see many interesting threads here in the future. here's a couple of video's of me and my band and my afd:

Sweet Child O' Mine:

Paradise City (never mind the backing vocals :P ):

Still got the blues:

:welcome

And while I agree on that the AFD100 is a great amplifier... and that I myself love the amp, I must admit that I'm curious on how you get the cleanest blues sounds out of it???

Good blues sounds yes.... specially if you use a strat or a tele... but I'm not able to get anything I would describe as clean from it though :dunno

Nice playing BTW... :beerme

I usually bias it a small step lower for bluesy sounds, i use the LOW sensitivity input on the afd mode with gain at about 1/4 and master at about 6, treble t almost 5, mid at almost 6, bass at 6 and prescense at 4-5. using the neck pickup on my LP and the volume control on the guitar. it's pretty nice and clean at about 6 or something on the guitar knob, and then for solo's i just max the volume on the guitar. ;)

Gotta say finally somebody who deserves to own an AFD100. The way you played Sweet Child O Mine with the AFD100 was like watching Elvis Presley sing a song & successfully hit on & make out with 10 girls at once.

Well done on the solo!.
