crackling on power down

Postby LewisGuitarMan » 15 Aug 2011, 10:41

hi guys this is my first post but i hope you all can help.

I brought an AFD100 today after about and hour playing it in the shop, took it home cranked it up played again for an hour or so and noticed that when I flicked the power off there was a small pause then quite a quiet crackle. Almost like a jack being plugged in, that sort of sound. Apart from that all the other noises on power up and down were perfectly normal.
I was wondering if anyone has an explanation or wether I need to send my amp back to be fixed already?

It looks damn sexy though and sounds fucking awesome.

Hope someone can help me

Thanks

I really hope this is normal. Mine does the same thing. I do follow the shutdown order in the manual...
It surprised me the first time because there is a 5 or 10 second pause before it seems to happen.
I read some place that it is normal. Sorry, I can't remember where. :think

It's normal, nothing to worry. Been assured by Santiago awhile back.
It is similar with the YJM as well.

Phew, thank god for that it had me worried for a while. I always follow the same power down routine with all my amps and had never come across this noise.

I dont suppose anybody knows what the cause of this is do they? maybe someone at marshall would?

thanks again for all your help guys

Lewis

Mine does that too. If you're guitar is still plugged in you'll get like 2 sec worth of signal still coming through. I try and do divebombs whenever I switch off the amp. :bgrin
