AFD100 and VM2266 Stereo Setup Help

Postby SmAsH » 15 Sep 2011, 11:49

Looking for some help....

I am looking for the best of both worlds. Want to run my AFD100 and my VM2266 into my 425A Cab for a gig this weekend.

I have an A/B switch to toggle between heads.

I am looking to find out how to properly hook up the heads and cables without destroying tubes or transformers.

I know I have to switch the Cab to Stereo.

Do I switch the VM2266 to 8ohm and plug it in the left or right side?

The AFD100 has 5 speaker output settings...do I use the 1x8ohm setting?

I dont want to blow anything up....so any help would be great.

I plan on running the AFD100 no louder than 50% on the power scale for Dirty, and the VM in LDR mode for Cleans.

Cheers.

I found my answer after much deliberation.

My apologies if this is a simple answer.

Setting the amps to 8ohms and green light go.

Gotta love the internet.

Cheers.

Just a reminder, the 425 cab is only 100 watts so be careful. I would get another cab and run a voodoo labs amp switcher allowing to play the amps one at a time or together.

Further to Surf's comment, you could get one of those Radial Headbone amp switchers too:

I hear they're quite good

I run both my heads at a show, sometimes letting them both roar at the same time. I agree on a amp switcher, I have the Tonebone.
