Woke up this moring and had the joy of watching this, well done video. Indeed those two amp compliment eachother well. The "orange OD1" is near perfect tone to work with.

My only comment is with the speakers used. Understanding that tone is subjective and the Vin30s and G12H are a popular combination, my experience has shown that the Lead 80s and G12H combination produces more "honk" for lack of a better word. This is a nice setup and I would be very itchy to later add a VintageModern with Greenbacks in the that marrige, threesomes are more fun. I think the VM with its KT66s and range of tones would really add some color. But then you would need a good Voodoo Amp switcher on your pedals board to control which amps came in and out of the mix.

Great video BigD

the main idea is to choose which preamp you want to run, gate everything, put some effects on it, use the JVM's reverb and put the final signal into both poweramps, which have different characteristics
add another amp into the mix, while staying within the spirit of the original idea things become VERY complicated :think :think :think :bgrin

when you pan left and right you'll hear the seperate poweramps with their own pair of speakers... but i can't remember which side is which amp

funny thing is that i had to cope with phase issues... it turned out, that the AFD's loop recovery inverted the signal coming from the JVM's preamp out and both poweramps were exactly 180 degrees out of phase of eachother... for the recording i had to use a DI box with a customised XLR-jack cable into the AFD's return, so it would flip the phase before it went into the AFD's return... the AFD's recovery stage then flipped it again, so both amps were in phase... i have to thank santiago for the info on that one :Thumbs

Pretty cool indeed but not exactly practical if you want that rig for your performance on the local pub :dunno
But for a home rig kind of thing I say why the hell not :Thumbs

they just have to make room for it... :whatever
all those pubowners like to see you come up with a 10 watt combo... :barf screw 'em all... :tounge :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin

i'm taking as much space as anyone with a regular halfstack... i'm only stacking a bit higher...
as for all the connections, i'm in the process of making a multicable... everything is buffered anyway so it won't give me signalloss or too much outer interference
i know... i'm an idiot :crazy :laugh

I was thinking impractical for your sake... Taking this thing down, put it back up again prior to the gig, take it down again after the gig.
You wrote somewhere in that video that you should get yourself a bundle... I think that would be a good idea... with tagged cables.

oh, it's not too bad... i just have to carry an extra head and make a bit more connections then i was used to... all the pedals and stuff are in the behringer case anyway, so it's just a matter of trowing it down and connect everything...
i have a lot more work on our PA-system for that matter as i'm pretty much the only member in the band that knows how to connect everything :roll
fortunatly i can rely on my neighbour helping us out :howdy

Nice sound, is this how you gig your rig.
Gibson R8 - Gibson Explorer - Gibson R7 Goldtop
Marshall 2466 - Marshall JMD1 - Marshall 1987

yep...
altough i need sorting out a couple more things, like a multicable and a specialised cable that flips the phase before it goes into the AFD's return
it works great during rehearsals though :howdy
