Lace Gold or Hot Gold with extra hot bridge

Gonna load up one of my Strats.
I read many conflicting reports on Lace Gold vs Hot Gold.
I prefer a vintage bell tone, don't care for high output (I use a treble booster anyway).
I'm seeking Blackmore's post-1992 tone which was and still is original Golds circa 1992.
Some reviews claim the Hot Golds are more like the original 1980's and 1990's Golds than the current Golds - this seems absurd to me.
Anyone with actual experience with modern Lace Golds?
