Poll: Pickup colour and/or covers in a heritage cherry SG

Postby Papus » 05 Sep 2012, 05:05

I'm gonna load my heritage cherry Epiphone SG G400 with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck.
I plan on keeping the stock black pickup rings.
I like the Page look: black bobbins in the bridge and nickel cover in the neck.
I don't know if this will look as cool on a cherry SG with black rings.
Thoughts?
Dime that puppy!!!

Nothing wrong IMO with that combination on any HB guitar as I grew up with guitarists swapping the bridge for a Super Distortion and leaving the neck alone. Maybe this random find can help you decide:

The JB and JAZZ is a time proven combination. I have used this combination myself and it is excellent. However I have switched that combination out in favor of the Seth Lover set. For my taste consider those also, some nice sound clips on the SD website.

You would be very happy with the JB Jazz combo.

Yup JB in the bridge and either a Jazz , PAF , A2Pro in the neck is nice.

I have a LP right now with chrome cover in neck and SD in bridge. I think it looks fine. The tone is even better, so I don't even think about it.
Many Marshall's, and I want more.
