Surf, I am glad you finally found a way to release some of that hot air, lol. :tounge Fuzz pedals make playing guitar fun!!!

I will have a Goldtop LP as one of my next guitars, just have to find the one that feels right in my hands. I agree about the redheads or blondes things but when you are used to the way one feels in the dark hair color doesn't matter so much, it's the familiar factor, hence LP's have always felt like I am cheating on my Fenders. :smoker

I have tried buckers in strats and realized I need to go all the way, mahogany body, so on. I am pretty set on a Traditional Gold Top but finding the "one" has been a challenge.

My grandfather used to tell me (when I was way too young) that if you burried women up to the waist upside down in the ground then they'd all look the same.
Don't know if I agree, but sure do miss that man.

Humbuckers.

For many years I only owned strats. Loved them. One day I bought a Marshall DSL50, and figured, I need to get a GIbson. After a few years, I no longer own anything Fender, no guitars nor amps.
After a few years away from strats, i have tried gettng back into them, and just can't. I can't get an overdriven sound I like, clean sound good. I am pretty much a Gibson/Marshall guy.
Crossroadsnyc douche of the year, and everyone at TGP tied for 2nd

the single coil guys are cheatin by using pedals!! :tounge

il go with humbuckers but i would like a single coil guitar aswel. a nice strat or something. but in the mean time i like the look of those seymour duncan triple shot things. anyone seen them? its just the mounting ring around the humbucker but has built in switched for coil splittling and series/parallel! they look really useful!

I wish i just could have one guitar that can do it all but i guess it does not excists.

For my personal experiences:
The humbucker gives a strong fat lead sound where a single coil sound thin compared with it.
Powerchording with lots of gain on the bridge pickups goes better with a single coil or P90.

So a humbucker in the neck and a P90 in the bridge would be the solution for me???
Wrong , there is also the scale length and wood differences .
Right now i have a les paul and a strat and i like how a tele sounds on the bridge pickup.
So with at least two guitars my needs are fullfilled. I could not settle with only a strat or only a les paul. :dunno
