Skatterbrane Pickups

Postby kissfanps » 25 Mar 2010, 11:11

I bought a set of Goldbranes to put in my LP Custom. Select A5's with gold covers - neck 7.9 - bridge 8.8.

I can't say enough good things about these babies. If you are a humbucker player, you owe it to yourself to try a pair of Rod's pups. I have always been a heavy distortion/high wind player, but these have opened my eyes. Just absolute vintage creamy goodness and I can still get my hard rock tones without a problem. In fact, they sound even better! I seriously want to buy another guitar just so I can put a different set in it.

These pups make the Class 5 sing like you would not believe.

Yeah, the Waterbranes in my LP are very nice. There is a tone and texture to the tone that I haven't heard with any other pickups before. Crystal clear notes, smooth overdrive for the neck and a woody bridge. Classic PAF all the way!

DAMMIT MAKE IT STOP! There's just too many ways to spend money on this hobby! :cuss

I looked at these about 4 months ago and really wanted a set. I settled on Gibson 57 classics and I like them, but I'm betting the Skatterbranes would kill them.

I just could not afford them at the time. Still can't. I need a Guitar tax credit...
