Bare knuckle Peter Green.

Postby bluesbrother » 04 Jan 2011, 11:33

I always have a love/hate relation with the les pauls i have had and
especially the pickups.

Burstbuckers pro , too much for me.
replaced them with bare knuckles mules and although extremely
good pickups still too much output for my needs.
57 classics , outputwise much better but for cleaner sounds just not it.
The P90 i really really liked with lots of gain but for cleaner sounds a
little undefined .Right now i have the burstbuckers 2 & 3 but for blues
i am not really thrilled with these........ :doh

All the clips on you tube show the way i wish my cleans could sound with the bare knuckle peter green pups. The midle position with the out
of phase sound i really dig for blues. Now i know i could turn the
magnet of my neck pickup but the result would not ( if i believe alot
of people on the net ) be the same as with these pickups being made
with this sound in mind.

What do you think of the bare knuckle peter green pickups or the
peter green mod in general ?

Bare Knuckle makes some great pickups. Myself, I just can't get into the out of phaze sound. I like humbuckers for their thick sound, to modify them to have a thin nasally tone just doesn't make sense to me. But that's me.

That is the great part , you still have that only in the middle position
with both volumes on the guitar around the same/equal you got an
third sound to your arsenal. Personally i find the sound of peter green
in'' need your love so badly'' awesome.
By the way bare knuckle has since 3rd januari a brand new site that
works great and now have also soundsamples. Pretty expensive pedal
the PG =220 pounds.
